苏三（钟真饰）、凤翔（冬怡饰）和青云（杨嘉玲饰）是妓院中新来的三名雏妓，老板高老大（植敬雯饰）负责对三人的管理和训练。高老大拍卖苏三的初夜权，雷大官人（徐锦江饰）和书生朱志昂（邵传勇饰）都想要得到苏三，而苏三和朱志昂是老想好了，最终，朱志昂获胜，雷大官人则买下了凤翔。 朱志昂进京赶考，贪婪的高老大便趁此机会逼迫苏三卖身，所幸善良的雷大官人及时赶到，纳了苏三为妾，将其收至自己的庇护之下。然而，雷大官人的正房十分妒忌美貌的苏三，她伙同情人害死了雷大官人，将罪过栽赃到了苏三的头上。苏三面临着审判，情况十分危急。
